Funeral Mass for Cecil Romero Salazar, age 85, of Brownwood, will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 12, 2014 at St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Indian Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 with a rosary service starting at 7:00.
Mr. Salazar died Monday, December 8, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.
C. R. was born in Brownwood on February 10, 1929 to Amado and Jesusa Romero Salazar. He was a member of St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church and worked for Santa Fe Railway. He was a loving father and grandfather.C.R. is survived by a son Cecil Salazar and wife Marlyn; five daughters, Stella Lopez and husband Frank, Rachael Bosquez and husband Jessie, Amparo Garcia, Amy Nguyen and husband Tam, and Gina Valdez; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lucia Salazar, a grandson, Marine Corporal Tevan Lee Nguyen, and his beloved Australian Shepherd Taqquache.
