RiddleCarroll Lee Riddle, 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family October 20, 2011 at his home in Waxahachie, TX. Born March 28, 1929 to H. R. (Teddy) and Virgie Lee (Moore) Riddle in Italy, TX.

In 1946 Carroll graduated from Italy High School. He then joined the U. S. Army Air Corps and proudly served from 1946 to 1950. He married Melba Odom August 4, 1950 and they were married for 51 years. They had two daughters, Debbie and Kaye. After her death, he married Pat Odom of Brownwood, TX on October 26, 2002.

He was retired from Southwestern Bell. Carroll was a member of the Farley Street Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents; first wife, Melba; daughter, Kaye Beaty; nieces, Jane Martozie and Nancy Orr; nephews, Adrian Odom and Patrick Griffis.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Riddle of Waxahachie, daughter Debbie Barnard and husband Harold, of Waxahachie; son-in-law, Bill Beaty of Waxahachie; stepdaughter, Seallya Vaughn and husband Buddy, of Brownwood; stepson, Jackie Odom and wife Stacy of Austin; also surviving Carroll are his grandchildren and great grandchildren who were his “pride and joy” as they dearly loved their “Pappy”. Grandchildren are Nicole Barron and husband Jamey of Waxahachie, Emily Myers and husband Geoff of Bryan, Erik Barnard and wife Laura of Waxahachie, Trey Beaty of Frisco, Paxton and Tanner Vaughn of Brownwood. Great-grandchildren are Molly and Ally Myers of Bryan; Nolan and Knox Barnard of Waxahachie; Emma Kaye and Brooks Barron of Waxahachie. Other survivors are his brother, Bill Riddle and wife Joyce of Bridgeport, Al, sister Elizabeth Griffis Reynolds of Italy; nieces Kathy Cashion and husband Grady of Blooming Grove; Sharon Leach and husband, David of Waxahachie, nephew Randy Riddle of Maryville, TN.

Mr. Riddle was a master at wood-working and there was nothing he could not build, repair or restore, and he loved helping his family with all kinds of projects. He was an avid RV traveler, enjoying extensive trips all over the United States with the Ramblin Sams Travel Club.

A memorial service will be held 10 A.M. Monday, October 24, 2011 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie. Rev. Grady Cashion will be officiating, assisted by Rev. Richard Smith. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Burial Park in Waxahachie.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 P. M. Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

In lieu of flowers the family would like to request donations be made to Farley Street Baptist Church building fund or the charity of your choice.

Pallbearers will be Randy Riddle, David Leach, Geoff Myers, James Barron, Jim Fuller, and Mario Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be former Southwestern Bell co-workers and members of Ramblin Sams Travel Club.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
