Caroline Denton Callaway, age 65, of Brownwood took her Lord’s hand Monday, November 18, 2013 surrounded by her family at the Senior Care Center of Brownwood.
Services for Caroline will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Heartland Church, with Jason Studdard officiating. Graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Pottsville Cemetery in Pottsville. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home.
Caroline was born on November 30, 1947 to Marvin Sr. and Tobie (Fuller) Denton in Brownwood. She married Donald Callaway Sr on September 25, 1963 in Lubbock, Texas.
Tenderly referred to by her grandkids as Memaw, she was the “hub” of the family. She held strong to her convictions of faith and instilled those truths into her children and grandchildren.
Caroline is survived by her children, Donna Hales and husband Errick, Jamie Barnum and husband Bobby, Shelly Callaway, D.J. Callaway and wife Cheryl, Jodie Studdard and husband Jason, Derek Callaway and wife Stephanie; eighteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Wes Denton of Santa Anna; two nieces and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty six years, Donald Wayne Callaway Sr.; parents, Marvin “Red” Sr and Tobie Denton Gillette; brother, Marvin “Bubba” Denton Jr.; and great granddaughter, Aidrean Westbrook-Moreno.
