Funeral services for Carl E. Poe will be Monday, November 2, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the Heartland Funeral Chapel, interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be Sunday November 1, 2015 from 3-5 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Poe passed away passed away Wednesday in Brownwood, Texas. Carl was born August 4, 1926 in Perry, Oklahoma to Boyd and Doris Poe. Carl was an oil field welder for a number of years. He loved to fish and teach his grandchildren to fish. He was an avid gardener.
H is survived by his wife Patsy L. Poe of May, Texas, his children; Brenda and husband Vance McCright of Ruidosa, New Mexico, Evelyn and husband Garrett Ware of Georgetown, Texas, Edwin and wife Teresa Poe of Abilene, Texas, Tammy and husband John Heatherly of Abilene, Texas, Jeff and wife Jamye Poe of May, Texas. Carl is also survived by seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren,and one sister Alpha of Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents Boyd and Doris Poe, sister Mary Penn, and a brother Zola Poe.
