BoysGirlsClubCardsBannerSSGCrosbyThe Brown County Boys and Girls Club brightened the day of an Army Sergeant deployed in Afghanistan, who has ties to Brownwood, with cards of support and a banner made by students and art teacher Betty Johnson.

Staff Sergeant Micah Crosby is the son of Roger and Sue White, who live and volunteer at the Heart of Texas Baptist Encampment.  He is also the brother of Dawn Norway and Christi Robbins.

The Military and Family Support committee helped coordinate the creation of the 141 cards and banner by the students and Mrs. Johnson.   Norway posted a picture of all the cards and banner on SSG Crosby’s Facebook page so he could see all of them; however, she will mail them to him a little at a time so he is getting them every other week.

After seeing the picture of all the cards, SSG Crosby was touched by the students’ hard work and dedication.

“Tell them thanks very much. I am very thankful for all their hard work and dedication. I wish I could tell each one of them thanks in person,” SSG Crosby told Norway.  “We are so blessed to have young ladies and guys to spend their time to show their thanks. The dedication and time they spent makes everything we do feel appreciated.”

When not deployed, 45-year-old SSG Crosby is stationed at Fort Hood and he works in transportation.  He and his wife Andrea recently married in February and he has a step-daughter, Huntleigh.
