The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce and the Early Chamber of Commerce hosted a forum Friday for candidates running for Brown County Commissioner in the upcoming Primary Election.
Candidates included Brown County Commissioner Precinct 1 – Gary Worley (Incumbent), Tommy Blevins, Jimmy Trowbridge and Bob Contreras; along with Brown County Commissioner Precinct 3 – Wayne Shaw (Incumbent), Pat McLaughlin and Jessica Acker.
Each candidate was given an opportunity to introduce themselves, answer a few questions and then a second time to speak, summing up their candidacy.
Questions for the candidates were submitted in writing prior to the forum and each candidate was given a chance to answer.
The majority of the forum’s discussion addressed candidates’ opinions on transparency of the court, rising taxes, and the McKinstry Project for improvements to several county buildings and the construction of a new building to house the County Treasurer’s and Elections Offices recently passed by Brown County Commissioners.
Below are videos of each candidate’s introduction.
