The filing deadline for candidates in the upcoming Brownwood City Council election passed Friday with a race developing for one of the seats.
Four candidates are now running for the Ward 2 seat on the Brownwood City Council, currently held by Councilman Eddie Watson. In addition to Watson who filed for reelection, Pat McLaughlin, Ed McMillian and Gary Bostick have filed as candidates for that place on the council.
Ward 3 incumbent Carl McMillan did not file for reelection, and Larry Mathis is the only candidate to file for this seat.
Ward 5 incumbent Jerry DeHay filed for his seat unopposed.
The election will be held for Brownwood City Council on May 9th.
