Political races are gearing up across the state and those intending to run for office are busy filing and planning their campaigns, including several Brown County candidates.
The filing period for candidates in the upcoming 2014 Primary Elections for state and county offices opened on Saturday, November 9th and will continue through Monday, December 9, 2013.
County offices that will be on the March 4th, 2014 Primary Election ballots are District Clerk, County Court at Law Judge, County Judge, County Clerk, County Treasurer, County Surveyor, County Commissioner Precinct 2, County Commissioner Precinct 4, Justice of the Peace for all four precincts, as well as unexpired terms for Constable Precinct 3 and County Tax Assessor Collector.
As of Monday, several candidates had filed for some of these local offices, according to the Republican Party, which include the following:

Constable Precinct 3 (unexpired term ending 12-31-16)
- C.T. Ham (R) – Appointed 5-13-12, serving an unexpired term.
