The Brown County Democratic Party hosted a candidate forum Thursday night at the Adams Street Community Center in Brownwood with only about half of the local candidates on the November 2nd ballot participating.
Participants in this forum included Ronnie Lappe, candidate for County Judge; Charles Stavley, candidate for County Commissioner Precinct 2; Mike “Pappy” Bullard, candidate for Justice of the Peace Precinct 3; Jim Cavanaugh, incumbent candidate for Justice of the Peace Precinct 4; and Selina Alexander, candidate for Justice of the Peace Precinct 4. The candidates each made a brief statement and took questions from the audience.
Many of the candidates expressed their belief that the county is in need of an independent audit which was greeted with applause from the audience at one point. Topics also discussed centered on the county budget, spending, and candidate qualifications.
