The inaugural Barktoberfest community event will feature the first Cake Wars challenge on October 22nd sponsored by the Brownwood Jaycees. Teams will compete in a cake baking competition around the theme, “Barktoberfest: Festival for a Cause.”
Cakes will be judged on taste, decoration and theme, and each team must submit a tasting and display cake during the competition.
The Cake Wars challenge will take place in the Depot Civic and Cultural Center at 10 AM. Winners will be announced by 2:30 PM.

Barktoberfest will be an all-day event featuring food and craft vendors, pet friendly activities, contests, and more until 5 PM on event day. After 5 PM, the Depot grounds will gear up for the festive “Octoberfest” style dinner, beer gardens and Texas country music. Bands to be featured include Prophets and Outlaws, Callahan Divide, Bleu Edmonson, Bush Holloway Band and Last Dance Band.Sponsors and VIP will have exclusive access to reserved seating, wine selections, photo booth, silent auction packages and more. A limited number of sponsorships are still available.
Proceeds for this Canine Cats Uncorked event will benefit the PAWS program at the Ron Jackson SJCC.
