The following is a political announcement submitted by Candidate C.T. Ham who is running for Brown County Constable, Precinct 3.
Constable C.T. Ham is running for the unexpired term of Brown County Constable in Precinct 3 in the Republican Primary. C.T. currently serves in that position. He would appreciate your vote to continue to serve as the Constable for Precinct 3. He was appointed in May after Constable Varner resigned. He is the only candidate seeking election who has served as a constable. He previously served 18.5 years as a Constable in Precinct 3 and desires to serve again in that position.
C.T. and Angela Ham moved their family to Blanket in May of 1977 and established C.T. Ham Insurance Agency in Brownwood June 1, 1977. Ham was elected to the Constable, Precinct 3 position in 1997 and Angela continues to manage the insurance needs of the customers.
He did not start a career in law enforcement at a young age but it was always a dream he had. C.T. decided to pursue his Peace Officer Certification while working full time. He graduated March 1, 1994 from Tarleton State University Law Enforcement Academy and received his Peace Officer License March 25, 1994.
Ham was working for San Saba City Police Department only a short time when the chance to work closer to home at the Comanche County Sheriff’s Office presented itself. He worked for Comanche County for 2 years and 3 months.
In 1997 C.T. was encouraged to run for the Brown County Precinct 3 Constable position. C.T. won the primary election and was unopposed in the November 1997 election. The then current constable decided to resign shortly after the primary election. The Brown County commissioners then voted to appoint C.T. to serve the county and finish the unexpired term. He was then sworn in again on January 1, 1998. He served the county and the residents of Precinct 3 diligently and with integrity for 18.5 years. When another candidate was elected to the position in 2012 and resigned before finishing the term, Ham was appointed again in May of 2013 to the seat he formerly held.
C.T. Ham has 1448 hours of continuing education in this field. He has an Advanced Peace Officer Certification. C.T. has attended numerous classes in civil processing, which is the major part of the job of the constables in Brown County. The four constables in Brown County serve all the civil papers and most of the Child Protective Services papers. The constables also serve Attorney General papers and evictions.
Ham and the other constables work together to give their best to their constituents. Ham has a positive working relationship with all of the Brown County employees he works with to carry out the duties of the office of constable.
This is a full time job and C.T. has always worked when and where he was needed to get the job done. He is the only person running for this position that has any experience as a constable.
C.T. asks for your vote so that he may continue serving the people of Precinct 3 and the county with their best interests at heart. He works tirelessly to serve and protect the public.
