BowersBundyKBundy Katharine Fowler Bowers, age 35, of League City and formerly of Early passed away peacefully Friday in the Hermann Hospital in Houston with her husband Dewey and her parents by her side.

She was born June 26, 1975 to the proud parents, Donald and Jeana Fowler of Early.

She graduated from Early High School in 1993. She excelled in academics and was regarded as a “gifted and talented” student. She achieved many honors while in school and served as head cheerleader, football sweetheart, award winning dancer, class favorite, and Miss Early High School. She later attended Angelo State University, Tarleton University, Mainland, and the University of Houston, Clear Lake.  Following her Master’s degree, it was her aspiration of achieving a doctorate in Literature.

She was married to the love of her life, Dewey Bowers on March 3, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, they were the proud parents of three beautiful daughters whom she dearly loved.

Many positive words can describe her brief time on this earth. She will be remembered as a very loving, compassionate, resilient and dedicated person. Her love of literature, her gift of writing, her great sense of humor, and her love of life helped her guide her dedication to her daughters and husband.

She will be greatly missed and never forgotten by her family and many, many friends. Her legacy to her family is one of courage and resilience. As her heart slowly lost strength, her inner strength increased and when the end came, her tenderness grew in spite of her constant pain.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Dewey T. Bowers; Her daughters, Hayden Gail, Shannon Marie, and Bennie Rebecca all of League City; Her parents, Donald and Jeana Fowler of Early; Her brother, Zeke Fowler and his wife Leta and their chidren, Dalton and Chaney of Brownwood; Her grandmothers, Ada Tidwell Gee and husband Earl of Early and Noma Lee Fowler of Brownwood; Her Aunt and Uncles, Mike and Nancy Whiteley of Early, William Tidwell of Star, Shirley Fragua of Brownwood and Noma Fowler-Sandlin of Shreveport, La. along with numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Harold P. Tidwell, B. J. Fowler, and uncles Ronnie E. Fowler and James V. Tidwell.

A celebration of her life will be held at 4 PM Tuesday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Her body will be cremated under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
