Buffalo Wild Wings obtained a permit for construction at its new location in Commerce Square last week and the general contractor is at work in hopes of opening sometime in November.
A lease was signed in recent months between Commerce Square owner Phillips Edison and Company and the new Buffalo Wild Wings owner who also owns the Taco Bell in Brownwood as well as a Taco Bell and Buffalo Wild Wings in Abilene. The owner took possession of the property last week and construction began.
As of this Monday, the storefront was emptied and the new renovations for the restaurant had begun. General contractors and partners Kevin Cleveland and David Sokolowski, of CS Development Services of Weatherford, are working hard at 511 W. Commerce, the location of the new Brownwood restaurant, with a project completion goal of 90 days according to Cleveland.
City of Brownwood Code Official Joe Roady stated that the store being built will be larger than the one in Abilene with over 4600 square feet. The site plans filed with the City of Brownwood show three indoor dining rooms and an outdoor patio dining area. The plans show an abundance of televisions throughout the restaurant for sports fans to enjoy.

According to the Buffalo Wild Wings website, the franchise began as one restaurant in Columbus, Ohio and has grown nationwide, in almost every state. Their restaurants specialize in wings, beer and sports. The website states that “Buffalo Wild Wings® is the ultimate place to get together with your friends, watch sports, drink beer and eat wings.”
