Elementary, middle and intermediate schools in Early and Brownwood can earn as much as $2,000 through a test drive campaign created by Bruner Auto Family’s Toyota and General Motors dealerships through Drive for the Classroom.
“We feel that children are precious, and we love working with our local schools,” says Greg Bruner, President of Bruner Auto Family. “Our goal with this program is to offer local funding that can help each school raise money in a fun and simple way. Each time a parent, educator, staff member or friend of the school takes a test drive, that school will earn $10, with a goal of $1,000 per school. We will present the check to the school the week following the test drives.”
Coggin Elementary School kicks off the campaign’s first week starting on Monday, October 14. Test drives may be taken at any time between Monday and Saturday, October 19, during regular business hours at either Bruner Toyota or Bruner Auto Family’s General Motors dealership.
Bruner continues, “The entire process takes 10?15 minutes. The guest signs in, takes the test drive, completes an evaluation of the drive, and then leaves with two gifts from the dealership. Each guest receives a complimentary car wash from Baird Brothers Express Car Wash and a discounted oil change certificate from our own service department.”Guests may take the test drives between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and 8:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays. The participating schools have already scheduled their dates, which will take place from October through next May. Each school’s parent organization is working with Bruner Auto Family to coordinate Drive for the Classroom.
Any participating school can earn as much as $1,000 for 100 cumulative test drives, and the school with the greatest number of test drives will receive a $1,000 bonus in May, which results in one school receiving up to $2,000.
“This is a win—win situation,” concludes Bruner. “Nobody will make any attempt to sell a car to any of the drivers. This is a community partnership that we are delighted to create with our local schools. Each of our school superintendents has welcomed the program and fully endorses it. Driving for the Classroom shows how committed we are to making Brown County an even greater place to live, work and play!”
