Brownwood’s Got Talent will kick off this Saturday, September 6th at Heartland Mall with auditions beginning at 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend and enjoy the performances.
Bob Hickey from Blanket will help kick off the preliminary event with the reading of a military poem that he wrote, which will be followed by a prayer. Hickey, 88-years-old, will be dressed in his uniform and is very excited to be a part of the talent show.Brownwood’s Got Talent organizers have asked Hickey to open the big Saturday night show September 21st at the Reunion Celebration.
Organizers ask everyone to read the rules of 2014 BGT and be sure to attend the Brownwood Reunion Celebration September 19-21.
Contestants must submit an entry at the Brownwood Chamber of Commerce, Brownwood Music or at the Heartland Mall Office with their $15 early entry fee ($25 at the door). Anyone can enter as there is no age requirement or restriction. Acts must be clean and offer family fun. One act per entry is allowed on the day of the audition.
Performances will be videotaped during auditions and the top 12 finalists will advance to perform during the Brownwood Reunion Celebration. The top 12 finalists’ videoed performances will be put on the Brownwood Reunion Celebration website. They will also receive a t-shirt and win a chance to perform two acts in front of a live audience and the BGT judges on Saturday, September 20th from 11:00 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The top three performers at the Brownwood Reunion Celebration will receive prizes. The winner will receive 2 backstage passes and 2 VIP passes as well as the honor of performing at 10:00 p.m. on the Celebration Stage right before Restless Heart.

This year’s Brownwood Reunion Celebration will be held September 19, 20, and 21. The community-wide festival features a variety of contests, events, attractions, music, and food in addition to the main concerts.
