It was a long hard battle against tough teams and tough weather, but the TTAB Junior Boys State Tournament is finally over with the Brownwood White Sox winning the state championship.
Due to recent rain, the tournament not only was extended by an extra day, but the location was also moved to Hawley Texas in search of a dry baseball field. The loser bracket was wrapped up first where the Colorado City Nationals faced the Ennis Firefighters with Ennis taking the win to play Brownwood in the championship game.
The day turned into night as Brownwood & Ennis played back to back games in this double elimination tournament. The first game was close with Ennis pulling forward and Brownwood hot on their heels, but Brownwood ended up losing with a final score of 8-9.
After a 30 minute break, the teams went at it again with everything on the line. This time Brownwood stayed one step ahead of their opponent and showed that they were there to win. Brownwood was crowned state champions of the TTAB Junior Boys State Tournament with a final score of 12-7 at the stroke of midnight.
Congratulations to the Brownwood White Sox!!!
