The longtime provider of television cable service in Brownwood will be closing its doors this month.
Brownwood TV Cable will close its office September 11th due to tough economic times and an increase in competition with other television providers such as Dish Network, Direct TV, and Harris Broadband.
Many local residents have noticed problems in recent months with their television reception and channel selection.
Longtime Brownwood TV Cable user Bo Hunter just switched to a satellite television provider last week. Hunter said, “Many channels that I used to get are gone. The ones that I were getting were not clear. I had to do something.”
When calling Brownwood TV Cable, a message says, “It saddens us to announce that on September 11th, 2009 we will be closing. We wish to thank our customers and wish the best for everyone.”
