The Brownwood Lions baseball team took down the Snyder Tigers Saturday 18-9 in game two of the Class 3A quarterfinal round of the playoffs advancing them to the semifinal round. Brownwood took game one Friday with a final of 8-7.
Strong pitching from Brownwood’s Graylon Brown combined with some power hitting helped clinch the win for the Lions. Brownwood hit four homeruns from three players, Levi Perez, Dillon Ellis and James Crow. Perez hammered two homers, one in the 1st and another in the 7th.
The Tigers closed in on the Lions by the 4th inning with a score of 9-8, but Brownwood scored 7 runs on 4 hits in the 6th taking a lead that Snyder could not recover from.
The Brownwood Lions go to a season record of 25-8. They will face Lubbock Cooper next week at a time to be determined in Abilene.
