Texas Comptroller Susan Combs released sales tax allocations statewide for the month of November with good news for Brownwood.
Brownwood’s sales tax allocations were up 9.14% compared to the same month last year and remain almost 2% up on the year. Early, Bangs and Blanket were each down for November, but Early and Blanket remain positive year-to-date.
Combs will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts their November local sales tax allocations totaling $654.6 million, up 7 percent compared to November 2012.“Growth in sales tax revenues was led by collections from the telecommunications sector,” Combs said. “The construction sector also showed significant gains. State sales tax revenue has increased for 43 consecutive months.”
Sales tax allocation numbers for November reflect actual sales from September.
