The Brownwood Reunion Celebration is getting closer by the day, and plans are moving forward as organizers and volunteers are busy readying events, signs, competitions and more. A meeting was held this afternoon headed by Executive Director Randee Green to get reports from committees and talk about pulling together many of the events & competitions.
This year’s Reunion Celebration will feature several new events along with many old favorites.
The Lehnis Railroad Museum will unveil the restored live steam locomotive on Sunday, Sept 20th at 2pm. (see photo below). There will also be a Draw a Train contest and forms will be distributed to area schools for kids to fill out and enter.
Arenas featured at the Reunion will be:

- Magic Show
- Mr. & Mrs. Cirque
- Inflatable World
- Midway
- Petting Zoo
- Pony Rides
- Mechanical Bull
The entertainment portion of the Reunion is also packed with events and guests. The main stage this year will feature three days of great music and entertainment. The lineup with ticket costs are:
Friday Night – $15 in advance $20 at door – Gate opens at 5pm

Saturday Night -$20 in advance $25 at door – Gate opens at 5pm

Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, August 19th at the following locations–
Brownwood Music, KOXE, Wendlee Broadcasting, Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce, Heartland Mall
A three day pass is only $35 and children 10 & under are free. Free tickets are also available for active military with ID.
There will also be some great contests which are highly anticipated this year. Contests include:
- Car Show
- Dance Contest
- 5K Run
- BBQ Cook Off
- Children’s Parade
- Feels Like Home Parade
- Hands on a House
- Photo Contest
Organizers pointed out that the car show will feature many old 1950s and 1960s cars. This year will also feature one of the original police cars used in the Andy Griffith Show.
Participants in the Children’s Parade will be able to March for a Hero that they designate (police officer, fire fighter, those in the military). Those being honored are encouraged to be present in uniform. This event will take place on Saturday, Sept 19th at 11:30am. A free American flag will be given to the children who enter and their hero.
