Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes recognized the city’s public works employees at Tuesday’s city council meeting and signed a proclamation for National Public Works Week.

Over 100 employees make up Brownwood’s Public Works Division including departments of development services, engineering, streets, sanitation, landfill, water, waste water collection and waste water treatment.  On call 24/7/365, these employees work in any condition to provide the essential services to the city’s citizens.

“The health, safety and comfort of this community greatly depends on these facilities and services,” Mayor Haynes said when reading the proclamation.
