Brownwood City Council recognized the Ark Domestic Violence Shelter and the Adams Pro Tour during their council meeting, proclaiming the week of September 18-24, 2016 as The Ark Classic and the Adams Pro Tour Week in the City of Brownwood.
Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes read and presented the proclamation to Jimmy Tidwell, Brownwood Country Club golf pro and Brownwood Assistant Chief James Fuller, secretary of the Ark board.The Adams Pro Tour is coming to the Brownwood Country Club and has chosen the Ark Domestic Violence Shelter as the recipient of all proceeds from the event. The Adams Pro Tour provides an avenue for professional golfers to hone their skills while preparing for a life on the PGA Tour, while helping local non-profit agencies raise funds for their charity. The week will feature a Pro-Am Golf Tournament, Junior Golf Clinic and a “support the Ark and Meet the Pro’s” Golf Tournament September 19-24.
In recognition of the important work done by the Ark Domestic Violence Shelter, Inc., and in support of the Adams Pro Tour, Mayor Haynes proclaimed the week of September 18-24, 2016 as The Ark Classic and the Adams Pro Tour Week in the City of Brownwood. Haynes also urged all citizens to actively participate in the scheduled activities and programs to show community commitment to improve victim safety while also supporting the budding professional golfers.
