BPDpatchSmallBrownwood Police responded to an emergency call regarding an unexpected death Monday afternoon and released the following information.

“Yesterday (Feb. 02) the Brownwood Police Department responded to a deceased person call on Booker Street.  The body of the deceased was sent to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy.

The autopsy was performed this morning (Feb. 03).  A Brownwood PD detective attended the autopsy.  The autopsy concluded that there was no visible trauma to the body.  We now have to wait for toxicology results.

At this point, there is no evidence that a crime occurred.”

The email further stated that if toxicology results indicate a possible criminal offense, BPD will release further information.  The name and age of the victim was not provided in the release.

“It has always been my policy to respect the privacy of families when no criminal offense has taken place.  Our hearts and prayers go out to the family of the deceased,” said Brownwood Police Chief Mike Corley in the release.
