According to Brown County Jail records, Brownwood Police Officer Michael Brian Clark, 44, of Early, turned himself in on Dec. 21 on two warrants for assault family violence and unlawful restraint. Clark was released the same day after posting two personal recognizance bonds of $2,500.
It was reported that Brown County Sheriffs Deputies and the Early Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2900 block of County Road 381 at 2 a.m. November 6. The victim, Jessica Lancaster, alleged that Clark had assaulted her.
An investigation by the BCSO and the Brown County district and county attorney’s offices resulted in the two warrants being issued for Clark on Dec. 18. Clark has worked as a patrolman since 1997 with the Brownwood Police Department, and is currently on administrative leave.
