On Wednesday, February 18, 2015, officers with the Brownwood Police Department responded to several reports of robbery.

The initial report occurred at approximately 9 pm, in the 1600 block of Vincent Street where an unknown male approached a female victim; demanding money.  When the victim refused, the male ran to a nearby vehicle and sped away.

Approximately 10 minutes later, officers were called to the 2700 block of Southside Drive where a male victim reported that he was walking in the area when a dark vehicle stopped near him.  An unknown male suspect jumped out of the vehicle displaying a pistol.  The suspect demanded money and was given the victim’s wallet.

At approximately 12:30 am on February 19, 2015, officers responded to the 400 block of E. Commerce where a female victim reported being approached by a male suspect.  The suspect displayed a handgun and also demanded money.  An argument ensued and the victim attempted to flee but the suspect was able to grab her purse before fleeing himself to a nearby vehicle.

A short time later, that victim’s bank debit card was used at a convenience store in the 600 block of W. Commerce.  More information was gathered there and broadcast to all local agencies.  Within minutes of this broadcast, the suspect vehicle was located on Early Blvd. by an Early police officer.  A traffic stop was initiated in the 100 block of Early Blvd. where the two male occupants were identified.

Investigation at this scene led to the arrest of 29-year-old Anthony Ray Yeager and 23-year-old Cody Aaron Hartwig (both of Brownwood).

At this time it is believed that the first two robberies were unrelated to the third robbery.
