The Brownwood City Council Chamber was crowded once again as Brownwood Police promoted former narcotics officer Aaron Taylor to the rank of corporal at Tuesday’s meeting of the council.

Taylor took his oaths publicly and then his wife Leticia ceremonially pinned his badge onto his uniform during the meeting.  Chief Mike Corley stated that Aaron was a great narcotics officer and will now be a strong leader of the patrol officers in the department.

Taylor is a graduate of Brownwood High School and earned both bachelors and masters degrees from Abilene Christian University.   He has been an officer with Brownwood Police Department for 9 years and has served as an officer in other departments such as Arlington, Abilene Christian University, and Leakey in the past.

Taylor comes from a long line of law enforcement.  His father Joe Don Taylor and grandfather Sandy Taylor both served as officers with Brownwood Police Department.  Joe Don Taylor was a past Chief of Police with the department.

Pictured above is Taylor taking the Oath of Honor which was administered by Chief Corley.  Below is Taylor with his wife Leticia as she pins his badge.
