Brownwood News –  The Brownwood Police Department responded to the following calls for service in recent days.

On Thursday, 10/3/19 at 09:04 hours, while on duty at 2100 Slayden (Brownwood High School) an Officer was contacted by dispatch via phone.  Dispatch advised that a daybreak worker was reporting having been assaulted by one of the subjects in her care at the campus and was requesting Police assistance.

On October 3, 2019, an Officer went to the 1000 block of Irma St. #2 to serve a warrant on a man.  The Officer observed the man in the front yard of the apartment building. The warrant was confirmed and he was placed under arrest for a warrant (Forgery of Financial Instrument).  He was found to be in possession of a crystal-like substance that is believed to be methamphetamine.  The man was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1<1gram in a Drug Free Zone as well.

On Thursday, October 3, 2019 at approximately 13:01 hours, an Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of Carnegie St. in reference to a theft.  The Officer arrived on scene and spoke with the complainant in regards to the incident. A report has been generated.

On 10/01/2019, at approximately 21:00 hours, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Slayden on an unwanted persons call. Brownwood Police made a report for theft.

On October 4, 2019, at approximately 10:48 hours, Brownwood Police Officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 300 Blk of Market Place Blvd. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop the vehicle and continued driving down various streets, until she finally came to a stop in the 100 Blk of Early Blvd. The driver was arrested for Evading Arrest/ Detention with a Motor Vehicle (felony 3rd).  The woman was transported to the Brown Co Jail.

On 10-4-19, at approximately 11:55 hours, Brownwood Police Officers were dispatched to the police department (1050 W Commerce) in reference to Stalking. A report was generated.

On 10/04/2019, at approximately 17:00 hours, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Commerce for a call of theft. Brownwood Police made a report of theft.

On Friday, October 4, 2019, Brownwood Police Officers were dispatched to a north Brownwood business in the 400 Block of Commerce for a theft call.   A woman was arrested for theft and criminal trespass.

On 10/04/19, at approximately 21 :33 hours, Brownwood police officers were dispatched to a north Brownwood address, 1400 block of Waco Street, in regards to an Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. No arrests were made and a report has been generated.

On 10-5-19, at approximately 11:36 hours, Brownwood Police Officers were dispatched to the police department (1050 W Commerce St) in reference to an assault. A report was generated.

On Saturday, October 5, 2019, at approximately 14:18 hours, two Officers were dispatched to a north Brownwood business in the 500 block of East Commerce. The call was in reference to a possible theft in progress. An investigation was completed and an arrest was made.

On Saturday October 5, 2019 Brownwood Police were dispatched to a south Brownwood residence for an assault that occurred at a north Brownwood event earlier the same night.

On 10-6-19, at approximately 12:47 hours, Brownwood Police Officers were dispatched to a one vehicle accident near the intersection of Morris Sheppard Dr and Custer Rd. During the accident investigation, the driver was found to be intoxicated.  A man was arrested for DWI 3rd or More (Felony) and was transported to the Brown Co Jail, where he was processed and released to the jail staff.

On 10/6/2019, at approximately 20:00 hours, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of 5th Street for a call of assault. Brownwood Police made a report for assault.

On 10/6/2019, at approximately 21:00 hours, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of 377 South for a call of hit and run. Brownwood Police made a report for hit and run.
