Brownwood News – The following calls for service have been responded to in recent days by the Brownwood Police Department and Brown County Sheriff’s Department.
BROWNWOOD POLICE BLOTTER
On 2/18/2020 at 01:00 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 2600 Blk. of Crockett Dr. in reference to disorderly conduct. One was arrested for public intoxication.
On February 18th, 20:20 at approximately 1900 hours Officers with the Brownwood PD responded to the LEC, 1050 W Commerce in reference to a walk in. A report was generated for this incident.
On Monday, February 17, 2020, at approximately 16:30 Hrs, Officer Bowman was dispatched to a South Brownwood residence in the 700 block of Austin Avenue in reference to Criminal Mischief. Upon arrival officer met with the complainant who said that he observed a female who owed him money. The complainant went and made contact with the female and asked her for his money. The female told the complainant that she didn’t have his money. The complainant became upset and was making a scene. Some friends the complainant was with paid for the female’s loan. As the complainant went to leave, the female kicked his car and damage the door. The complainant wished to file charges. A report was generated and completed.
On Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at approximately 12:49 hours, Officer Risdon was dispatched to a south Brownwood address in the 1700 block of Good Shepherd Drive regarding a criminal mischief. Upon arrival, an investigation and a report were completed.
On 2-19-20 Officers responded to the 400 block of W. Commerce in reference to theft of property. Officers arrived, investigated, and took a report for Organized Retail Theft, a class C misdemeanor. The suspect is unknown. The investigation continues.
On Wednesday, 2/19/2020, Officers were dispatched to a business in the 400 block of West Commerce in reference to a subject drinking and harassing civilians. An on-scene investigation was conducted and an arrest was made.
On Thursday, 2/20/2020, officers were dispatched to a south side residence in the 3500 block of 1st in reference to a theft. A report was taken and the investigation is ongoing.
On Thursday February 20, 2020, Officers were dispatched to the 2800 Hwy 377 South in reference to a theft. The individuals were located with the property nearby, one of which had a warrant. Both individuals were placed into custody and a report was generated.
On 2-20-20 Officers responded to the 100 block of Market Place Blvd in reference to a disorderly conduct. An investigation was conducted and one male was arrested for public intoxication. The male was taken to the Brown County Jail.
On 02/20/2020, at approximately 23:42 Hrs, Brownwood Police were dispatched to a south Brownwood area of 2nd Street and Avenue J in reference to a hit and run. A vehicle was found at a south Brownwood business meeting the description of the vehicle being searched for. An investigation was conducted and one male subject was arrested.
BROWN COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT
On Friday, February 14, at 13:27 hours, Deputy Jayson Bastardo was dispatched to County Road 135. This was in regards to a civil matter. A man said he shot his neighbor’s dog, due to the dog attacking his livestock. An information report was taken.
On February 14, Deputy Toby Mathis responded to a report of two horses on the roadway of US 183 S. The horses were Estrayed and taken to the sheriff’s office.
On February 14, Deputy Ashley Harris responded to a domestic disturbance at Hog Creek Road. A man and woman were subsequently placed under arrest for public intoxication. A report was made.
On Saturday, February 15, a firearm, which was located in the attic of a home on Main Street in Blanket, was surrendered to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office. A report was made by Deputy Saydie Hammonds.
On February 15, at approximately 11:57 hours, Deputy M. Davis was dispatched to Briarcrest Drive in Early. The was regarding a report of prior criminal mischief.
On February 15, Deputy Ashley Harris received a report for harassment. Further interviewing the victim, it was discovered an attempted prostitution possibly occurred. Information was taken and a report was made. Location was County Road 319 in Early.
On February 16, at around 15:22 hours, Deputy Ashley Harris was dispatched to Leo Lane in Brownwood for a burglary report. During the investigation, a female was arrested for possession of a controlled substance PG 1 less than 1 gram. A report was made
On Monday, February 17, at approximately 9:41 am, Deputy Scotty Burke met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center. This was in reference to a trespass warning being issued. The suspect was located and a warning issued.
On Monday, February 17, at about 17:24 hours, Deputy Simpson took a walk-in report in regards to harassment. Upon meeting with the subjects at the LEC, it was discovered there was not any harassment towards the subjects. An information report was made. The location was County Road 405 in May.
On February 18, deputies were dispatched to Windjammer Drive in May, Texas and Lakeshore Drive in regards to an assault. An investigation was conducted but deputies were not able to make contact with the suspect. The victim refused medical attention due to only having minor injuries. An Assault Family Violence report has been made.
On February 18, at about 15:06 hours, Deputy Byron Langley, arrived at a business on FM 2492 in Brownwood in regards to a theft of a motor vehicle. The victim stated he has a Motor Vehicle Retail Installment Contract with a man (suspect) and he refuses to pay for the vehicle or return the vehicle.
On Tuesday, February 18, Lt. Pete Bastardo met with a man at the Brown County Law Enforcement Center. This was in regards to theft. The man said a subject, who he knows by the first name of Jeremiah, still owed him $10,000 for a tractor he was supposed to sale for him. A report was taken.
On Tuesday, February 18, Deputy Simpson took a phone call in regards to a theft on County Road 233 A Brownwood. The caller advised her granddaughter and the granddaughter’s boyfriend has stolen two Bass Pro credit cards. She advised the subjects had spent approximately $500. A report was made.
On February 18, Deputy Mason Fabbiani was dispatched to an address in Deepwater Estates in regards to burglary of a habitation. It is unknown who the suspect is at this time, but several thousand dollars in various items were taken from the residence. A report has been made.
On February 19, Deputy Mason Fabbiani was advised of an inmate at the Brown County Jail who had brought an unknown substance into the jail. The inmate hid the substance from jailers and then proceeded to eat it. A report has been taken.
On February 19, at approximately 13:27 hours, Deputy M. Davis was dispatched to Melwood Avenue in Brownood. This was regarding a reported prior theft which occurred at U.S. 67 in Bangs.
On Thursday, February 20, at 09:33 hours, Deputy Jayson Bastardo observed an abandoned vehicle at U.S. Highway 67 and County Road 137 while on routine patrol. After further investigation the vehicle had been previously red tagged to be removed by February 11. The vehicle was towed. A report was taken.
