Brownwood News – The Brownwood Police Department responded to the following calls for service between April 22 and April 26.

On 04/22/2020 at approximately 13:48 hours, a Brownwood Police Officer took a report in reference a burglary of a vehicle.

On April 22, 2020 at approximately 16:51 hours, Officer Vallejo was dispatched to 9th St for criminal mischief that had occurred.  Officer arrived on scene and made contact with a man who stated that his vehicle had been vandalized.

On April 23, 2020 Officers with Brownwood PD responded around the 600 block of W. Commerce for a theft that had occurred. A report was generated in reference to this call.

On 4-24-20 at approximately 13:00 hours Officers responded to the 1800 block of Main Blvd in reference to a harassment call. An investigation was started and a report was taken for harassment. The investigation is on-going.

On 4-24-20 Officers were dispatched to a shoplifting call in the 400 block of W. Commerce. A related traffic stop was made in reference to this call, and the driver was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to jail for the aforementioned charge and a warrant. The business declined to pursue charges for the shoplifting.

On Friday, April 24, 2020 at approximately 16:38 hours, Officer Weaver was dispatched to the 300 block of E Commerce St. in reference to a Theft.  Officer arrived on scene and spoke with the complainant in regards to the incident. A report has been made.

On 04/24/2020 Brownwood officers were dispatched to 4th St. in reference to a citizen dispute. A report has been generated.

On 4/24/20, at approximately 21:39 hours, Officer Taylor was advised by dispatch about a subject needing a telephone call from an officer in reference to forgery. A report was filed at the complainant’s request.

On April 25, 2020, at 00:32 hours, Brownwood Officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of Vincent Street in reference to a possible domestic disturbance. After the investigation at the scene was completed, a male was arrested for Assault w/ Injury -Family Violence.

On April 25, 2020, at 18:36 hours, a Brownwood Police Officer was dispatched to 401 W. Commerce (Wal-Mart) in reference to a theft that had already occurred. No suspect was named at the time of the report, and the investigation is ongoing.

On Saturday April 25, 2020, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Ave I in reference to an assault. When officers arrived, it was discovered a male juvenile had severe lacerations to the hand and was treated by EMS on scene. The suspect was later located and placed into custody. A report was generated for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

On 4-26-20 Officers responded to the 1600 block of 8th Street in reference to a burglary of a vehicle. An investigation was started and evidence collected. A report was taken for the burglary. The investigation continues.

On Sunday, April 26, 2020, Officers responded to the 1400 block of 2nd Street in reference to a unwanted person on the property. After speaking to the resident, a report was generated.

On Sunday, April 26, 2020, at approximately 21:53 hours, a Brownwood Police Officer conducted a pedestrian stop in the 1700 block of Woodridge Drive. A man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance PG2< 1 G.

On Sunday April 26, 2020 Officer Self stopped a gray/silver Chevy Camaro. The driver was identified as a 17 year old who was stopped for racing in the 2000 block of Austin Avenue near Coggin park. After an investigation he was arrested for Racing, Possession of a CS PG 2 <20z, and DUI minor.
