Brownwood News – The following calls for service were responded to in recent days by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department and Brownwood Police Department.
BROWN COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT
On Thursday, December 19, at approximately 13:18, Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to Deepwater Road in reference to burglary of a building.
On December 19, Deputy Taylor Fletcher performed a traffic stop on a Cadillac passenger car on Highway 279 near Cross Cut for expired registration. The driver was arrested on warrants and, additionally, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for 2 pipes with meth residue and 3 Tylenol 3 tablets, which were found in his pocket.
On December 17, at approximately 16:28 hours, Cpl. Hopson, responded to the Brown County Jail for an assault report. The victim wished to pursue charges against the known suspect.
On Wednesday, December 18, at approximately 13:28, Deputy Scotty Burke observed a vehicle that had run from a Brownwood Officer who was trying to stop it. A vehicle pursuit occurred and the driver fled on foot and was shortly arrested by the Brownwood Police Department. This occurred on Slayden Street.
On Monday, December 16, at 13:32 hours, Deputy Jayson Bastardo was dispatched to FM 1689 in May in regards to theft. Upon arrival, Deputy Bastardo spoke to a woman who said she had purchased a vehicle online and she hasn’t received the vehicle. A report was taken.
On December 16, at approximately 16:47 hours, Cpl. Hopson responded to the Brown County Jail to speak with an inmate. An information report was completed for the incident.
On December 17, Deputy Toby Mathis responded to a structure fire on County Road 362 in Blanket. A report was made.
BROWNWOOD POLICE BLOTTER
On December 18, at approximately 13:30 hours, Brownwood Police attempted to make a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Vine Street. An arrest was made for evading with a vehicle and evading on foot.
On Wednesday, December 18, at approximately 19:51 hours, Brownwood Police officers were dispatched to a south Brownwood address in the 3900 block of Crestridge Drive in reference to a Domestic Disturbance. A report was generated for this incident.
On December 19, at approximately 04:32 hours, Officers with the Brownwood PD initiated a traffic stop around the 600 block of West Commerce. Two individuals were arrested in reference to the stop. The female passenger had a warrant out of Hays County.
On Thursday, December 19, at approximately 19:35 hours, Brownwood Police Officers were dispatched to a north Brownwood address in the 400 block of West Chandler in reference to a Domestic Disturbance. A woman was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.
On December 19, at approximately 22:08 hours, Officers with Brownwood PD responded to the 1800 block of Avenue B in reference to a theft of a motor vehicle. A report was generated and the vehicle was added into NCIC/TCIC.
On December 16, at approximately 01:18 hours, Officers with Brownwood PD responded to Coggin Park in reference to an assault that happened around the 4400 block of South U.S. 377. A report was generated for this call.
On Monday, December 15, officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Sheridan Rd. in reference to a burglary of a building. The lock on the door was cut and the victim reported multiple tools were stolen. Information was gathered from the scene and a report was taken.
On December 16, Brownwood officers were dispatched to Davis Lane in reference to a terroristic threat. A report has been generated.
On December 16, Brownwood officers were dispatched to 300 East Commerce in reference to a theft. A report has been generated.
On Tuesday, December 17, the Brownwood Police Department performed a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 600 block of West Commerce. During the traffic stop, a quantity of methamphetamine was recovered. At the conclusion of the traffic stop/investigation, a man was arrested and charged with manufacturing/delivering a controlled substance Pg1>=1G,4G and tampering/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair. A woman was arrested and charged with tampering/fabricate physical evidence with intent to repair.
While on patrol, on December 17, at approximately 20:15 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of 8th street in reference to theft of a motor vehicle. Officers met with the complainant and a report was made.
On December 17, Brownwood PD Officers responded to the 700 block of W. Commerce in reference to a Forgery of a Financial Instrument. A check was passed in the amount of $229.49 but had already been deposited previously. A report was taken and the copy of the check was recovered.
On Tuesday, December 17, Officers responded to the 2800 block of Southside Drive in reference to a fire in the wooded area behind the apartment complex. A male was located with an uncontrolled fire. The male was issued a citation for Uncontrolled Fire and released. The fire was extinguished.
On December 18, Officers were dispatched to an address in north Brownwood in the 1000 block of Cordell in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, a female claimed to have been assaulted by a juvenile. A report was generated.
