Monday, July 16th

12:48 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to a theft call in the 1300 block of Avenue J. Officers made contact with the victim and have taken a statements about the theft. Investigation is on going.

1:46 p.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to N. US 183 and Windmill Road for a possible intoxicated driver. Bobby Williams was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated with an Open Container. He was transported to the Brown County Jail and released to jail staff.

2:10 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Indian Creek Drive in reference to a fight in progress call. Officers responded to the location and gathered information about two separate assaults that occurred at the location, during different time frames.

4:20 p.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy received a phone call regarding mail theft.

7:09 p.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the 1000 block of W. Commerce Street regarding an assault.

Tuesday, July 17th

2:17 a.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a green 1994 GMC pickup for speeding in the 7800 block of Hwy 279 in Brownwood. The vehicle evaded detention and pulled into a driveway located at CR 551 in Brownwood. The driver was able to flee on foot before the deputy was able to get out of his vehicle. The passenger had exited the vehicle and began running attempting to flee. The deputy caught up to the passenger placed him in handcuffs. The driver of the vehicle was not located. The passenger, Colbey Owings, was arrested for Evading Arrest/Detention, Class A Misdemeanor.

2:16 p.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to FM 2525 for a warrant service. According to the report Francisco Escobedo and Lorena Mantos were both arrested for warrants. They were additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance < 1 gram.

5:40 p.m. A Brownwood Police officer was dispatched to 900 block of  Commerce Street for criminal mischief. The complainant stated someone spray painted her son’s bicycle.

10:00 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Vine Street in reference to a domestic disturbance.
