Brownwood News – The Brownwood Police Department and Brown County Sheriff’s Department responded to the following calls for service in recent days.

BROWNWOOD POLICE BLOTTER

On Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at approximately 09:00 hours, Brownwood Police Officers were dispatched to a south Brownwood address in the 2000 block of Southside Drive in reference to Criminal Mischief. A report was generated for this incident.

On 10-15-19 at approximately 15:49 hours, a Brownwood Police Officer was dispatched to the police department in reference to a theft. An officer spoke with the complainant by phone who reported that his son’s bicycle had been stolen. An active report was generated.

On October 18, 2019 at approximately 18:19 hours, Officers with the Brownwood Police Department were dispatched to a Suspicious person at a residence in the 1700 block of Durham. After an investigation on scene, a report was made for Criminal Mischief <$100.

On Friday, October 18, 2019, I Officer Donahoo and FTO Baker assisted on a burglary of a vehicle call at 500 Block of Lee Street. One subject was located and charged with Burglary of a Vehicle, Forgery Financial Instrument and Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1.

On Friday, October 18, 2019, at approximately 11:00 hours Brownwood Police Officers were dispatched to a north Brownwood business in the 1600 block of Melwood in reference to an assault. A report was generated for this incident.

On 10/19/2019 at 11:00 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 1000 Blk. of W. Commerce in reference to a welfare check. A report was taken to be passed on for further investigation.

On Saturday October 19th, 2019 at approximately 15:00 hours Officers with the Brownwood Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Vincent Street in reference to a Disturbance.

On Saturday, October 19, 2019 at approximately 16:00 hours, Brownwood Police Officers were dispatched to a south Brownwood address in the 600 block of 5th Street in reference to a Domestic Disturbance. A report was generated for this incident.

On 10/19/2019 at approximately 17:00 hours, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of 6th Street for a call of terroristic threat. Brownwood Police made an arrest for DWI.

On Saturday, October 19, 2019, at approximately 19:58 hours, Officer Risdon was dispatched to a north Brownwood business in the 100 block of Fisk Avenue. regarding a theft of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival an investigation and a report were completed.

On Saturday, October 19, 2019 at approximately 20:34 hours, Officer Risdon was dispatched to a north Brownwood address in the 1500 block of Lane Street regarding a criminal mischief call. An investigation and a report were completed.

On Sunday, October 20, 2019 Brownwood Police were dispatched to a south Brownwood residence at 5th Street and Brady Avenue for a burglary of a vehicle report. Information was gathered and a report has been generated.

On 10/20/2019 at 06:00 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 1300 Blk. of 13th St. in reference to a domestic disturbance. A report was taken to be passed on for further investigation.

On Sunday, October 20, 2019, at approximately 06:30 Brownwood Police Officers checked on a vehicle partially blocking the roadway on a north Brownwood street, Market Street. An arrest was made in reference to this incident.  Charges are Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle and Possession of Controlled Substance.

On 10/20/2019 at approximately 18:00 hours, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 200 block of E. Commerce for a call of assault. Brownwood Police made a report for assault family violence.

On Sunday, October 20, 2019 at approximately 18:24 hours, Officer Risdon was dispatched to a south Brownwood address in the 4200 block of U.S. Highway 377 South regarding a burglary that had occurred. Upon arrival an investigation and a report were completed.

On Sunday, October 20, 2019 at approximately 22:19 hours, Officer Risdon and Corporal Chrisman were dispatched to a south Brownwood address in the 3800 block of 2nd Street regarding a burglary of a vehicle. Upon arrival an investigation and a report were completed.

On Tuesday, 10/17/19 at 08:00 hours, while on duty at 2100 Slayden (Brownwood High School) an investigation determined that a juvenile was in possession of an electronic cigarette as well as two white boxes containing electronic cigarette fluid pods.  Juvenile was issued a citation for possession of an electronic cigarette.

While on patrol on October 21, 2019, at approximately 08:30 hours, Officers met with a victim of Debit/ Credit Card abuse at 1050 W. Commerce at the Law Enforcement Center. A report was completed.

On October 21, 2019, Officer Lee spoke with a teacher at Woodland Heights Elementary School who advised her handbag and its contents were stolen.

On October 21, 2019 at approximately 19:01 hours Officer J. Vallejo and FTO S. Tidwell were dispatched to a terroristic threat that occurred at 3900 blk Crestridge Dr. A report was generated in reference to this call.

BROWN COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT

On Wednesday, October 16, Lt. Bastardo spoke with a woman in regards to being assaulted by her brother on Sunday, October 13.  During the assault, the brother prevented the sister from making an emergency call.  A report was taken.

On October 17, Deputy Smoot with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to County Road 215.  This was for a civil issue regarding personal property.  Deputy Smoot arrived on scene and determined the complainant was actually the suspect who is not allowed to be on the property.  The Deputy called the owner of the property who wished to issue a Criminal Trespass Warning.  While on scene, Deputy Smoot was advised the suspect entered property across the street and took an item from the yard.  The complainant for that property located at County Road 215 wishes to issue a Criminal Trespass Warning as well.  Two trespass warnings were issued and a report was completed.

On 10/17/19, at approximately 16:09 hours, Cpl. Hopson responded to North Highway 279.  This was for a burglary report and criminal mischief report.  The incident is still being investigated.

On October 17, 2019, Deputy Mathis responded to County Road 551 in Brownwood.  This was for a report of theft of a firearm.  Contact was made with a man who advised his friend’s firearm was taken from his vehicle.  Two reports were made.

On October 17, 2019, at approximately 14:00 hours, a 20 year-old woman was arrested on two felony warrants and 1 misdemeanor warrant, before shortly escaping custody.  She was then apprehended minutes later, at approximately 14:05 hours, after a foot pursuit.  She was then charged with Felony Escape.  A report was made.

On October 18, 2019, at about 10:21 hours, Deputy Langley spoke with a man who stated he had lost his suppressor for his 7.62 AR style rifle after shooting on his family’s property on County Road 201 in Brownwood.

On 10/18/19, at about 12:00 hours, Deputy Davis was dispatched to Spillway Road.  This was regarding a report of a possible burglary to a mini-storage.  A report was taken for theft.

On 10/18/19, at about 14:03 hours, Deputy Davis was dispatched to a walk-in complaint in the main lobby of the Sheriff’s Office.  A report was taken for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.

On Saturday, October 19, at approximately 15:04, Deputy Burke along with SO Units was dispatched to an address on County Road 237.  This was in reference to a family fight.  The offense was Assault with Injury, Family Violence.

On 10/19/19, Deputy Fabbiani performed a traffic stop on a red pickup for speeding on Highway 45.  The man, who was driving the vehicle, was identified as someone having multiple Driving While License Invalid citation convictions.  He was placed in custody for Driving While License Invalid and taken to Brown County Jail.

On 10/20/19, Deputy Fabbiani was dispatched to an address on County Road 382.  This was in regards to a possible Animal Cruelty call.  While investigating, Deputy Fabbiani took a report for Criminal Mischief and Theft.  The animals on scene are being taken care of now and a report has been taken.

On Monday, October 21, a woman reported she was the victim of Identity Theft.  She stated her identifying information was used to establish a line of credit in Austin, Texas.  In addition, her bank account was charged with $347.00 for an unauthorized web purchase made.
