A Brownwood Officer is bruised and sore but recovering following an accident that involved his patrol car and a Suburban on Thursday afternoon, according to officials.
Brownwood Police officer Robert Lee was taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for evaluation and released that evening with minor injuries; mainly bruises and aches from the impact as his patrol unit was struck on the driver’s side.
“Luckily he wasn’t hurt worse from the accident,” stated Assistant Chief of Police James Fuller.
Lee will return to work after he is medically cleared, Fuller said.
Officer Lee joined the Brownwood Police Department earlier this year.
