MartinezJohnAnthony_MCSOA Brownwood man pleaded guilty Thursday at the McCulloch County Courthouse for three counts of criminal negligent homicide after a triple-fatality accident near Brady in 2014, according to ConchoValleyHomePage.com.

On April 22 of last year, 26 year-old, John Anthony Martinez Jr. was driving a pickup north on US 377, 12 miles north of Brady when it crossed the highway’s center strip and collided with a southbound Chevrolet Suburban that was occupied by a Brady family.
A woman and two of her children in the Suburban were killed in the accident.
Martinez was arrested in April of this year on the criminal negligent homicide warrants and on a fourth warrant for possession of methamphetamine.


John Martinez Jr. was sentenced to 16 years in a state penitentiary for a drug possession charge and 2 years on each of the three negligent homicide charges. The sentences will be served concurrently.
