A Brownwood man was arrested and charged Thursday with Intoxication Manslaughter with Vehicle as a result of a fatal car crash that he was involved in back in January 2010. 35-year-old Daniel McKee was booked into Brown County jail Thursday on the charges.
According to the original Texas Department of Public Safety report, McKee was driving on the wrong side of the road on Highway 279 about five miles north of Brownwood when his vehicle struck a car driven by Jose Gongora of Brownwood.
The report states that Gongora was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, and McKee sustained what the report describes as “incapacitating injuries”.
McKee is being held on $50,000 bond.
