Ben Cox – The Brownwood Lyric Theatre is preparing to host a tribute to the Chairman of the Board, Ole’ Blue eyes, Mr. Frank Sinatra. Dave Halston will present his rendition of Sinatra classics at the historic theater on Friday the 27th at 7:30 p.m., sponsored by Kindred Home Health and Kindred Hospice.
Halston has performed for Mrs Barbara Sinatra, Jeanne Martin (Dean’s widow) as well as Wayne Newton. A former member of the Texas A&M Singing Cadets, Halston currently performs as part of the Tribute Masters organization which provides celebrity impersonators and look-a-like talent for venues across the country.
Halston will be accompanied by “The Little Big Band” and is sure to thrill any fan of Franks. Barbara Sinatra reviewed his act as “a wonderful performance” and was even moved to tears by his version of “My Way.”
Sinatra, who passed away in 1998, sold more than 150 million albums worldwide and starred in several movies including Guys and Dolls and the original Ocean’s 11. In 1985, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by then President of the United States Ronald Reagan who said “His love of country, his generosity for those less fortunate … make him one of our most remarkable and distinguished Americans.”
