The Brownwood Lions Football Team traveled to San Angelo on Friday to face off against the 5A San Angelo Central Bobcats in the final scrimmage before the regular season starts.
Reports from those who watched the game indicate that although no score is officially kept, Brownwood held the Bobcats from getting into the end zone even once. During the controlled scrimmage, Brownwood found the end zone two times against the Bobcat defense.
The teams also played two timed live quarters where not only did the Lions keep San Angelo Central from scoring, but Brownwood scored a touchdown in the second live quarter.
Brownwood’s first team defense kept San Angelo Central from getting beyond the 23 yard line.
The first regular season game for the Brownwood Lions will be a home game next Friday at 7:30 at Gordon Wood Stadium. They will play the Burnet Bulldogs who were previously led by Brownwood’s new head coach Bob Shipley.
