The Brownwood Lionettes will “pass the boot” during the 2nd half of the Brownwood Lions football game this Friday night to help fund their trip to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
Fifteen Lionettes are participating in the parade and will be performing an “Alice in Wonderland” themed routine during the parade. They will leave for New York on November 23rd and return on the 29th.Sponsor Stacee Hetzel stated that the girls are working to make sure each Lionette has $500 for incidental expenses and spending money for the trip. So far, they have raised about $300 per girl. Those wishing to support the Lionettes can donate as the boot is passed at the game, or email stacee.hetzel@brownwoodisd.org for more information about the trip or how to make a donation if you cannot attend the game.
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will be aired on NBC on Thanksgiving morning starting at 8 a.m. so mark your calendar and watch for Brownwood’s own Lionettes as they perform on Thursday, November 28th.
