The Brownwood High School Lionettes are heading to San Antonio this weekend to compete at the San Antonio Spurs Dance Competition.  The competition will take place on Saturday at the AT&T Center.

Lionettes Sponsor Stacee Hetzel stated that she is excited for these young dancers to compete at the event.

“They have worked so hard for this opportunity and it is such a great experience for these amazing young ladies,” said Hetzel.

The Brownwood Lionettes are a traditional drill and dance team made of up of students from Brownwood High School.  The Lionettes Drill Team, according to Lionettes Alumni, was formed in the fall of 1959. The first sponsor was Mrs. Shirley Crawford. The squad consisted of sixty girls from the Senior, Junior and Sophomore Classes.
