The highly anticipated “Spirit of Christmas” Lighted Parade traveled through Downtown Brownwood on Saturday, December 4 to the delight of kids and adults in the area. Although the date of the parade was changed from Friday to Saturday due to the Brownwood Lions football playoff game, that didn’t hurt attendance as the streets were packed with spectators wanting to see the beautifully decorated floats and vehicles.
Over 80 entries participated in the parade which was sponsored and organized by Southside Church for the second year in a row. Good Samaritan Ministries was selected as grand marshal of the parade for the help the organization gives to the community.
The lighted parade was part of several events taking place in Brownwood during the Christmas Under the Stars Festival.
