Friday, May 4th
  • (no time noted in report) Brown County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to South 183 for a reckless driver. While on-route, deputies were diverted to the Allsup’s located at Early Boulevard. According to the report, the previously reported reckless driver was allegedly fighting with another subject at that location. Officers arrived on scene and detained Jagdeep Singh Kang. It was determined, through admittance, Kang had been drinking and driving. Kang refused all field sobriety tests, after which he was placed in custody for DWI and a search warrant was issued for blood test. Kang was brought to Brown County Jail and released to jail staff.
  • 2:45 p.m. Brownwood Police Officers with the assistance of other responding agencies, responded to a “shots fired” call in the 1400 block of Waco Street. After locating the suspect, she was arrested for Disorderly Conduct Discharge Firearm, Class B Misdemeanor, and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon, Class A Misdemeanor.
  • 6:00 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to the 800 block of Milton Street regarding two large dogs that had attacked livestock.
  • 7:15 p.m. Brownwood Police Officers responded to the 500 block of E. Commerce Street in regards to a disorderly conduct call. One subject was arrested for Public Intoxication, Disorderly conduct by loud and profane language and Resist arrest search or transport.
  • 9:58 p.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Cpl. Taylor Fletcher performed a traffic stop on a white pickup. During the stop the driver claimed he had been shot earlier in the evening. A report was made.
Saturday, May 5th
  • 5:01 a.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Mason Fabbiani noticed a black Chevrolet Silverado sitting in the Bangs Middle School parking lot with its lights on. Deputy Fabbiani made contact with a man who was lying across the front seat asleep. After having the man exit the vehicle, and performing field sobriety tests, it was determined he was too intoxicated to drive home. Due to the engine being turned off at the time of contact, the man was arrested for Public Intoxication and brought to Brown County Jail and released to jail staff.
  • 2:03 p.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Hopson responded to N. US 183 for a Cruelty to Animals report. The incident is still being investigated.
  • 3:11 p.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Hopson responded to CR 269 for an assault report. The victim stated he wanted to press charges for Assault-Family Violence and Criminal Mischief against the known suspect. The incident is still being investigated.
  • 9:40 p.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Toby Mathis conducted a traffic stop on a red passenger car for 98 mph in a 65 mph zone. The driver, identified in the report as Nicholas Durkop admitted to drinking alcohol prior to the stop. After Standard Field Sobriety Test was conducted, Durkop was placed in custody for Driving While Intoxicated.
Sunday, May 6th
  • 4:09 a.m. A Brownwood Police Officer responded to a suspicious call in the 1000 block of Holcomb Street. Subject was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
  • (no time noted in report) Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Toby Mathis was dispatched to an address in Brookesmith for a report of a woman’s neighbor threatening to shoot her dog. After speaking with the woman, she informed the deputy the neighbor had threatened to shoot her as well. Information was gathered and a Terroristic report was made. Three Criminal Trespasses were issued as well.
  • 10:21 a.m. Brownwood Police were patrolling the 800 block of Austin Avenue, and conducted a traffic stop. After an investigation, the driver was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1 <1G in a Drug Free Zone.
  • 11:34 p.m. The Brownwood Police Department arrested a subject in the 2200 block of 12th Street for narcotics offenses.
