Written by Ben Cox – The Brownwood Coliseum will be buzzing this weekend, or should we say, rattling.
The 55th Annual Lone Star Fair & Expo opens this Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. and features some new attractions as well as old favorites.
Headlining this years event will be Loop Rawlins, a western performer who has been featured on America’s Got Talent and as a performer in the Viva Elvis Cirque de Soleil show in Las Vegas.
Rawlins is a trick roper, gun spinner and whip cracker who got started after seeing a show very similar to the one he will put on this weekend. His show includes audience interaction and western music.
Also new to the Expo this year in the vendors area is a build you own teddy bear experience, along with several other vendors who will surely have something to tempt your pocketbook.
The delicious foods and fun activities are sure to delight the senses and entertain the eyes.
There will be educational activities for kids about rattlesnakes, presented by the Jaycees Rattlesnake Corps. Admission is $6 per adult and $4 for children, sold at the door. The hours for the event are from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, then Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Loop Rawlins showtimes are Friday at 3:30, 5:30 and 7 p.m., Saturday shows are 1:00, 4:00 & 7:00, and there are two shows on Sunday, at 12:30 & 3:00.
