Brownwood News – Brownwood ISD is welcoming Allison Smith as the new head volleyball coach. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master’s of Business Administration, both from Howard Payne University. She was captain of both the HPU volleyball and softball college teams, and served as the Assistant Volleyball Coach at HPU.
“We are excited to have Coach Smith join the Brownwood team,” said Brownwood ISD Superintendent, Dr. Joe Young. “She comes highly regarded from her work at Howard Payne. In addition to coaching, she will be teaching in our CTE (career and technology education) department. I believe she will be an asset to our students on the court and in the classroom.”
In addition, Smith has some prior experience in Brownwood, having coached volleyball and softball during the summers of 2014-2016.
“I am so excited to be joining the Brownwood ISD family,” stated Smith. “I’ve enjoyed meeting the current staff and athletes that I will be working with. I can’t wait to get started in the classroom and on the volleyball court!”
