Congratulations to our November 2018 Spotlight teacher, Ms. Estella Soto! Ms. Soto is an English Teacher at Brownwood High School, where she has been teaching for 11 years. Born and raised in San Saba, Ms. Soto graduated from high school there before attending Central Texas College in Killeen.

Ms. Soto earned a Bachelor of Arts in English degree with her teacher certification from Angelo State University and previously worked as both a Junior High English and Spanish teacher in Richland Springs before coming to Brownwood.

Known for devoting extensive amounts of time and energy to her work at Brownwood High School, Ms. Soto’s passion for teaching is made apparent as she greets each student at the door with a kind and supporting smile. When the BHS cheerleaders needed a sponsor, she stepped up and continues to give countless hours of support to represent BHS at numerous activities.

Brownwood ISD is thankful to have teachers like Ms. Soto who mentor students, are passionate about teaching, and provide a great example as a role model for others to see and follow.

Elizabeth Gilmore is the November 2018 Spotlight staff member. The Instructional Technologist for Brownwood ISD, Ms. Gilmore holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Howard Payne University, where she graduated in 2000.

Ms. Gilmore previously worked at Brownwood Computer Innovations (BCI) before coming to Brownwood ISD in 2004. With her knowledge of computer systems, instructional technology and software, Ms. Gilmore is known to provide amazing training and technical support to teachers across the district.

She is positive, upbeat, and goes above and beyond to help teachers and staff succeed with the myriad of educational tools and software utilized on a daily basis. Brownwood ISD is grateful to have positive, hard working staff to provide training and technical assistance.
