Various Veterans Day programs and activities were held in Brownwood ISD schools this week to honor the brave men and women who have served in our military.

Special Veterans Day programs were held Wednesday morning at East Elementary, Woodland Heights Elementary, and Northwest Elementary.  Coggin Elementary held one program Tuesday night, with another one planned for Thursday, November 12th at 6:00 p.m. in the school auditorium.

Each program highlighted the service of our Nation’s Veterans and featured patriotic songs performed by students.  Moments of silence were also observed while “Taps” was performed as a part of several of the elementary programs.

“Various students from different grade levels helped honor our Veterans by raising the flags and singing various patriotic songs,” explained Woodland Heights Elementary Music teacher, Aaron Terry.  “This year Woodland was honored to have guest speaker Command Sergeant Major Daniel Morelock deliver a few words on the history of Veteran’s day.”
