January is School Board Recognition Month, and Brownwood ISD is taking this opportunity to say “thank you” to these local leaders for their time and service supporting public education in Brownwood.

“We want to make sure these public servants are thanked for the great job they do and the hours they put into serving their community,” said Brownwood ISD Superintendent, Dr. Reece Blincoe.  “They play a very important and sometimes very difficult role in the decision making process for the district.

The current members of the Brownwood ISD Board of Trustees are, Diane Thompson, Dr. Lisa Fowler, Tim Jacobs, Eric Evans, Michael Cloy, Bradley Jetton, and Roderick Jones. These local volunteers are elected by their constituents, and they receive no compensation for the service they provide.  They are part of more than 7,300 men and women across the state serving as school board members.

Brownwood ISD will highlight the current members and their service in a special presentation during the board meeting on January 14th.  “We’ve set aside some time during the meeting to show our appreciation,” said Blincoe.  “It’s important to thank these people for their continued contribution to the success of our students and our district.”

Brownwood ISD extends its gratitude to these men and women for their diligent service and year-round commitment to public education.
