On Thursday, November 12th, police notified Brownwood High School Principal Mitch Moore that an investigation was under way regarding messages posted to Facebook which made threats to do harm at the high school.
Brownwood Police recently released a statement regarding the situation and to address any rumors. “Officers made contact with the complainant and observed the messages,” the statement said. School officials worked closely with local law enforcement to identify the responsible parties and ensure that at “no time was there an immediate threat of harm to the school itself or any of the student body or staff.”The investigation is ongoing, and Brownwood ISD will continue to cooperate with police as they follow-up, process and release any information. “Nothing is more important than the safety of our students and staff at Brownwood ISD,” said Acting Superintendent, Liesa Land. “As a district we take this seriously. The police and our staff responded quickly to make sure there was no actual danger to anyone at the school.”
