It’s nearing the end of summer and to get students and their families prepared, Brownwood ISD released back to school information this week including registration dates & times and school supply lists for all campuses.
The first day of school for Brownwood students is Monday, August 27th. The following are campus start and end times:
•Elementary (1st through 3rd grade) 7:50 a.m. – 2:50 p.m.
• Coggin (4th grade) 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
• Intermediate (5th & 6th grade) 7:50 a.m. – 3:05 p.m.
• Middle School (7th & 8th grade) 8:10 a.m. – 3:40 p.m.
• High School (9th through 12th grade) 8:05 a.m. – 3:35 p.m.
Other important times and information to note regarding each BISD campus:
Brownwood High School:
•Pick-up Class Schedules:
Seniors: Aug. 15th – 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Juniors: Aug. 16th – 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Sophomores: Aug. 17th – 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
• Freshmen can come from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on any of the days listed above to take picture ID’s and fill out paperwork.
• New students to the district can also come from 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. any of these three days to register.
• New students will need a parent or legal guardian with them. Parent or guardian must bring proof of residency and their driver’s license. New students will need a copy of their birth certificate, social security card, immunization records and a copy of their transcript or last report card.
•Freshmen and new student orientation will be Aug. 23rd beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Freshmen and new student schedules will be handed out during this time.
• School start and end times: 8:05 a.m. – 3:35 p.m.
Brownwood Accelerated High School:
• BAHS registration date is Wednesday, Aug. 15th and Thursday, Aug. 16th.
• Meet the teacher date is Tuesday, September 4th.
• School start and end times: 8:05 a.m. – 3:35 p.m.
Brownwood Middle School:
• New student registration – Tuesday, Aug 14th – 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This is only for those students who were NOT in BISD last year. Those students who were at Brownwood Intermediate School as 6th graders last year or at Brownwood Middle School as 7th graders last year have already been pre-registered.
• Thursday, Aug 23rd – All 7th and 8th grade students pick up schedules in the cafeteria AND athletes get equipment issued in locker rooms as follows:
1:00 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. – 8th grade
2:15 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. – 7th grade
3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Office worker orientation
• First day of classes – Monday, Aug. 27th – All students meet in Lehrer Gym at 8:10AM for orientation and direction.
•Meet the Teacher – Tuesday, Sep. 4th – at BMS – 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. There will also be a meeting for 7th grade parents and parents of 8th graders new to BMS to go over policies and questions about laptops. This meeting will be at 6:00 p.m. in Lehrer Gym.
• Thursday, Oct. 11th – Open House/Report Cards/ Band and Cheer performances/ Book Fair/PTO meal – 5:00-6:30PM
• School start and end times are 8:10 a.m. – 3:40 p.m.
Brownwood Intermediate School:
• 5th & 6th Grade Registration – Aug. 13th – 16th from 9:00 a.m. – 2 p.m. each day. (ONLY for NEW students to the district.)
• Meet the Teacher – Thursday, Aug. 23, from 5:20 p.m. – 6:10 p.m. WE WILL START AT 5:20 p.m. in the Intermediate Cafeteria, then dismiss to classrooms.
• Campus opens at 7:20 a.m. each day. (Supervision begins)
• School start and end times: 7:50 a.m. – 3:05 p.m.
Coggin Elementary:
• Coggin Fourth Grade Registration – Aug. 13th – 16th from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. each day. (ONLY for NEW students to the district.)
• Coggin Meet the Teacher – Thursday, Aug. 23rd, from 6:15 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. NOT A COME AND GO. WE WILL START AT 6:15 p.m. in the Coggin auditorium, then dismiss to classrooms. It is a time for the principal and teachers to communicate student expectations and routines to students and parents.
• School Day – Breakfast is served from 7:25 a.m. – 7:40 a.m.
Morning Assembly is from 7:50 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
Instructional day begins at 8:00 a.m. Students are tardy at 8:05 a.m. Three tardies equals one absence.
Student dismissal is at 3:00 p.m.
EAST:
• PK Verification: Aug. 7th – 10th at Central Office
• Registration date: Aug. 13th – 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. for PK, K, and new students
• Meet the Teacher date: Friday, Aug. 24th – 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
• School start and end time: 7:50 a.m. – 2:50 p.m.
Northwest Elementary:
• Registration dates: Aug. 15th – 17th – 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• Meet the Teacher: Aug. 24th from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
• School start and end times: 7:50 a.m. – 2:50 p.m.
Woodland Heights Elementary:
• New Student Registration: Aug. 14th – 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
