As many parents and students know, Brownwood ISD is juggling several construction and remodeling projects at multiple facilities throughout the district. Monday night, the school board received a report on the current status of the projects and an estimated timeline on when they are expected to be complete.
Northwest Elementary: The remodeling of the school building is expected to be completed by this Friday. Officials said they plan to have the parking lot paved this Saturday (Aug 14th) and have the parking lot striped the following Saturday (Aug 21).
High School Parking Lot: The Brownwood High School parking lot will continue construction right up until the first day of school. Officials said that they plan to pave the front parking lot on August 19th-20th and do the striping on August 21st-22nd. The first day of school is the 23rd.
High School Track: Replacement on the High School track has not started, but the district is securing the permit for the project from the city. They plan to start the replacement project on the first week of September.
Ag Barn: Construction of the district’s new ag barn has started.
Middle School Gym: The floor of the Brownwood Middle School gym is being replaced after sustaining water damage. Officials said that the new floor will not be finished by the time school starts. They hope to have it finished the next week.
