The safety and welfare of students and staff is the highest priority at the Brownwood Independent School District. To provide schools an opportunity to practice emergency response procedures, the district is asking all students and staff to participate in district-wide emergency preparedness drills over the course of three days: Wednesday, May 13th, Thursday, May 14th and Friday, May 15th. Please be advised that students will be dismissed at their regular time over these three days.
Each campus will conduct specific drills that will be chosen by each campus principal.
The goals of the training drills are to improve the district’s ability to protect students, save lives, and reduce injuries. They allow us to evaluate our emergency operations plan and improve our response skills. As part of the drill, the students and staff on each campus within the district will participate in the activation of our Emergency Plan.Prior to the drills there will be a question and answer session for the community to address any questions or concerns on Friday, May 8th at Brownwood High School (2100 Slayden) from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
